What are the controlled substances?

According to the Virginia code, section §54.1 – 3401, the controlled substance in Virginia is “a drug, substance, or immediate precursor in Schedules I through VI of this chapter.”

What is a Virginian law for possession of controlled substance?

If a person is convicted of possessing a controlled Substance in Richmond Virginia, he could be charged with a felony or misdemeanor, according to the Virginia code, section 18.2-250. The law enforcement authorities will arrest the person for possessing the controlled substance, however, they have to prove that the drugs found were with him. Marijuana is dealt separately, using the Virginia code, section 18.2-250.1.

According to the Virginia code, section 18.2-250

“A person who “knowingly” possesses a controlled substance, classified as a Schedule I or Schedule II substance, is guilty of a Class 5 felony or misdemeanor”
